How to Write a Resume to Apply for a TV Station Job


So you have just finished college and are eager to land a job with your local television station. But in the highly competitive entertainment market, how can you put together the type of show-stopping resume that will give you that necessary edge? Whether your goal is to begin a lifelong career or just a valuable internship, making the right first impression is key, and your resume could ultimately mean the difference between lingering on unemployment and obtaining the job of your dreams.

  • Do your homework. Your future employer wants to see that you know the station and have an honest vested interest. Learn everything you can about the television station, its history and its goals so that you can tailor your resume appropriately.

  • Write an Objective statement. In other words, clearly state the position you seek and succinctly outline why you would best fulfill the job requirements.
