When you are out and need to find out where an address is or how to get there, the Google Maps application for your cell phone can be an invaluable resource. With the Google Maps application, you can easily access Google Maps from your phone at any time. The installation process is quick, requiring only a few steps. The Google installer will do most of the work for you once you download the application.

  • Launch a web browser on your mobile phone. Use your phone's default browser to be sure you receive the proper version of Google Maps.

  • Navigate your browser to "m.google.com/maps". Locate and click the "Install Now" link. Click the link on your screen to begin the download if it does not launch automatically. Click "OK" when prompted to begin the download.

  • Click "Accept" to approve the download and begin the install of the Google Maps application on your phone. Agree to allow data network permissions if you are prompted to do so. Click "Continue" if prompted with a file detail screen.

  • Select the memory location where you want your Google Maps application to be installed. Choose between the phone memory and mass memory locations for your application installation.

  • Click "Continue" if prompted to allow access for the application to write to the memory location.

  • Review the Terms and Conditions for Google Maps and click "Accept" when prompted to do so. You must accept the terms and conditions in order to use the Google Maps application.

  • Select the "OK" button to agree to the safety warning regarding using the Google Maps application while driving.

  • Choose the network access point you want to assign to your Google Maps application. If you opt to use the network connection provided by your wireless service provider, you will be subject to data charges if you do not have an unlimited data plan.

  • Locate your Google Maps icon once the installation is complete. It may be located in the Main Menu, Applications, My Stuff or a similar location (depending on your phone model). Double-click the icon to take you directly to Google Maps.

  • Allow the application to acquire a satellite signal and press the "0" key to identify your current location.
