How to Make Homemade Mouth Wash
Mouthwash recipes vary, and each recipe benefits your mouth in different ways. Things You'll Need
- 6 oz. water
- 2 oz. vodka
- 4 tsp. liquid glycerin
- 1 tsp. aloe vera gel
- Saucepan
- 10 to 15 drops spearmint essential oil
- Airtight container
- 2 ½ cups distilled water
- 1 tsp. fresh mint leaves
- 1 tsp. rosemary leaves
- 1 tsp. anise seeds
- Colander

Spearmint Mouthwash

Place 6 oz. of water, 2 oz. of vodka, 4 tsp. of glycerin and 1 tsp. of aloe vera gel in a saucepan over medium-high heat.

Bring the ingredients to a boil.

Remove the saucepan from the stove top.

Allow the ingredients to cool slightly.

Place 10 to 15 drops of spearmint essential oil in the saucepan. Stir the spearmint until it mixes well.

Store the mouthwash in an airtight container. Try storing it in a tall glass container to make it easier to use.
Mint Mouthwash

Place 2 1/2 cups of water in a saucepan over medium-high heat.

Bring the water to a full boil.

Add 1 tsp. of mint leaves, 1 tsp. of rosemary leaves and 1 tsp. of anise seeds. Reduce the heat to allow the ingredients to simmer and infuse for 20 minutes.

Remove the saucepan from the stove top. Allow the mouthwash to cool.

Strain the mouthwash with a colander. Store it in an airtight container until you're ready to use it.

Tips & Warnings
If you want to make the mouthwash last for longer than a week, try doubling the recipes.
Swallowing mouthwash, especially mouthwash made with vodka, can cause an upset stomach. Monitor children under the age of 12 to make sure they properly use mouthwash.
