1
Cut one side of the 9-inch square of lace into a curve, so that it will curve around your face. This is a basic way to design your lace front hair piece; if you chose, you can cut the lace in other patterns, such as a zigzag or a square.
-
2
Fold over the uncut end of your lace piece about a centimeter or two. This will be the area you glue around the top of your comb barrette.
-
-
3
Iron the lace so it holds the fold you've made. Remember to iron quickly and on a very low heat setting.
-
4
Fill the inside of your fold with a small amount of craft glue, Wrap the fold around the head of your comb barrette. Allow the glue to dry.
-
5
Cut off the excess lace on either side of the barrette, gently shaping the lace so that it widens the farther away it extends from the barrette. For a basic design, cut the end of your lace into a curve to lay in a circular shape over the face.
-
6
Use craft glue and rhinestones, feathers, or fabric to decorate the head of the barrette if you choose.
-
7
Allow the glue to dry, which usually takes about an hour. To wear, slide the comb barrette into you hair at the front of your scalp and flip the lace over your face.
