How to Host a Music Video
Hosting is the act of uploading a file from a computer hard drive to make it accessible and visible on the Internet. All types of multimedia files can be hosted online, including full music videos. Hosting a music video can be quite simple, as it only requires the use of a video hosting site; it's just a matter of transferring the video from your hard drive to the Web for publishing. The publishing action generates a URL address for the music video so it can be used on a specific website, linked and embedded to other websites and shared with users all over the Internet.

Tips & Warnings
Uploading to YouTube is also a form of hosting for a music video. For those who aren't as tech-savvy, this may be a much less complicated solution. As long as you have a YouTube user account, you can upload and host music videos.
Regardless of what hosting site you use, the directions are generally the same on all hosting sites, as the hosting process is simple and it rarely changes.
Some hosting sites may require you to register for a usage account. These types of accounts are usually free, unless you opt to pay for hosting from a specific site. The required information for an account usually consists of only standard information, such as a name, email address and password.
Several hosting sites offer both free and paid usage privileges, but only a few are reputable and dependable for video hosting. YouTube, zShare.net and YourFileLink.com are highly recommended for reputable video uploading (see resources).
The music video must be a file stored to your computer's hard drive. If the file is not saved to your computer, there will be no way of uploading it to the Internet for hosting.
Depending on the size of the music video, hosting may take a little longer than usual. The length of the video is the determining factor of its file size. The longer the video, the bigger the file. Uploading can take any where from 3 to 7 minutes.
When uploading music videos, make sure you are not compromising any copyright laws. Some sites, such as YouTube, have a tendency to delete videos that may have copyright deficiencies.
