Instructions

    • 1

Remove the bottom grille cover from the front bottom of your Kitchenaid refrigerator by pulling outward. Use the hand-held hose/wand attachment on your vacuum cleaner to slide beneath the appliance and suck the visible dust from the coils. Replace the cover. Unless you have heavy pet hair accumulation in your home from long-haired pets, this only needs to be done once or twice a year.

    • 2

Pull the Kitchenaid refrigerator out away from the wall. You may need a second person to help you move the refrigerator if you don't have a dolly to move the appliance or if you are not strong enough to move it by yourself.

    • 3

Unplug the refrigerator. Don't worry about the food inside spoiling. This chore won't take that long.

    • 4

Use the vacuum cleaner's hand held hose attachment to vacuum the dust from the back of the Kitchenaid refrigerator. Begin at the back top and work your way downward so that any debris that falls will fall onto an area you haven't cleaned yet. This should be done once or twice a year unless you have shedding pets.

    • 5

Use damp paper towels to clean any oily dust build up by wiping away the oily film. This is best done every two to three months if you have long-haired or high shedding pets. Dry the back of the refrigerator with the towels.

    • 6

Vacuum the floor and walls around the refrigerator and use wet paper towels to clean any leakage or debris visible on the floor beneath the refrigerator's normal position. Dry everything with the towel to avoid mildew or mold accumulation.

    • 7

Plug the Kitchenaid refrigerator cord into the socket and move the refrigerator into place.

Tips & Warnings

  • Stubborn oily film can be cleaned by putting a dime-sized amount of Dawn or any other anti-grease fighting liquid dish detergent on a wet paper towel and wiping the heavily soiled area. Dry well with a towel.

  • Always unplug the refrigerator before cleaning to avoid electrical shock which can result in severe injuries and even death.
