How to Eat a Candy/Caramel Apple

Candy apples, the tasty treat that turns something healthy into a kids fantasy. Remember back when you were a kid, stretching your mouth over that bright, sticky, sugary coating and sinking your teeth into the apple, never to retrieve them again. Well, here are a few ideas that will help you relive your childhood without losing any teeth.

• 1 candy/caramel apple (more if you want to eat more than one)

Instructions

1. 

   The first option would be the classic way. Simply buy said apple from your nearest candied apple stand. Sink your teeth through that outer coating into the apple and try your best to pull off a bite without losing any teeth. To be perfectly honest this is still my favorite way to eat one.

2. Your next option would be to introduce a knife into the equation. Simply slicing the apple into wedges will help you get past that hard our coating and evenly distribute the sweet coating to each crisp bite of apple.

3. 

   Your last option would be to heat the apple. Place the apple on a plate into the microwave for just a little bit at a time adjusting the time so you dont overcook the candy coating. You do not want to melt it, but instead just want to soften it a bit. So experiment with your particular microwave being careful not to let the outer coating get too hot and enjoy your the specialty with a little more ease.

   You can also arrange a number of these treats onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake until just warmed making the caramel more pliable being careful not to overheat or the coating will start to puddle at the bottom.
