This is a logical extension of the pick or screen. It requires the picker to follow the ball handler.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Athletic Socks
  • Basketball Uniforms
  • Basketball Hoops
  • Basketball Shoes
  • Basketballs
  • Basketballs
  1. Step 1

Run a pick move to strip the ball handler of her defender (see "How to Run a Basketball Offense: Screen").

  2. Step 2

As your teammate dribbles around, roll away from the defender in the same direction as the ball is moving.

  3. Step 3

Run parallel to the ball handler. Now that the defender is behind, you'll probably have a two-on-one situation.

  4. Step 4

    Watch for the pass.

  5. Step 5

Receive the pass and either lay it up or attempt to shatter the backboard, depending on the status of your vertical leap.

  6. Step 6

Raise your "We're No. 1" finger to the crowd as you head back on "D."

Tips & Warnings
  • If the picked defender follows you instead of the ball handler, your teammate should take the shot herself.
  • If you have any condition that would impair or limit your ability to engage in physical activity, please consult a physician before attempting this activity.

on 6/30/2006 After you set a pick, if the defender calls a switch, V-cut away from the basket, cut to the basket, and shoot a lay-up.
