How to Stack Rabbit Cages
Conveniently and safely organize your rabbit cages by stacking them. Wire rabbit cages can be stacked using a rabbit cage frame kit. A frame kit comes with tabbed metal framing posts and tray brackets that can be attached to the corners of each cage to secure a stack of cages. Rabbit cages are typically stacked three cages high. Buy a frame kit with posts that are the correct size for the height of your cages. Make sure that cages used in stacking are properly equipped with trays and liners to prevent the unsanitary drop-down of detritus, urine or fecal matter.

Attach the first set of posts onto the bottom cage. Attach the post to the sides of the cage, at the front and back corners. Secure the cage by slipping the horizontal wires at the top and bottom of the cage into the corresponding metal taps on the posts.

Attach the tray brackets for the bottom cage to the posts (the protruding legs) underneath the bottom cage. The tray brackets are L-shaped cross bars that run from the front to the back of the cage on both sides. This provides you with tracks for sliding a tray in and out. Attach the tray brackets by inserting the tray bracket tabs into the corresponding tabs on the posts.

Insert the bottoms of the second set of posts into the tops of the posts on the bottom cage. Line up the bolt holes at each corner, and insert and tighten the bolts to connect the posts. Tighten the nut onto the bolt with two wrenches, or with a wrench and a ratchet. Use pliers to pinch the post tabs around the corresponding cage wires.

Attach the tray brackets for the center cage.

Attach the center cage to the second set of posts in the same manner as the bottom cage.

Insert the bottoms of the third set of posts into the tops of the posts on the center cage. Line up the bolt holes and secure with bolts.

Attach the tray brackets for the top cage.

Attach the top cage to the third set of posts in the same manner as the other two cages.
