Instructions

      Place the plug end of the heat tape next to an outlet and run it to the sewer pipe.

      Attach heat tape to the part of the sewer pipe that comes out of your mobile home. Wrap the tape around the pipe and secure it with electrical tape

      Run the heat tape the entire length of the sewer pipe and secure it to the pipe with the electrical tape. Cover the sewer pipe with pipe insulation so no heat is lost when the heat tape is working.

      Plug the heat tape into an electrical outlet on the outside of your mobile home during the winter season to prevent the sewer pipe from freezing.

Tips & Warnings

  • Shut off the main water valve if you plan to be away for more than a day or two, especially during the winter months.

  • Heat tape should not be installed over leaking pipes because it can cause a short and damage the tape.
