How to Start an Operating System in Safe Mode Through Virtual PC

Virtual PC is a program released alongside Windows 7 that allows users to emulate the environment of older versions of Microsoft Windows. This will enable you to keep using your favorite "non-Windows 7" software without seeing errors or blue screens during the process. As a full-fledged operating system within an operating system, Virtual PC will also enable you to boot directly into safe mode for troubleshooting the legacy Windows application.

  Open the Virtual PC console to display a list of the virtual machines contained on your hard drive.

  Select the chosen machine by clicking it with the mouse and pressing the "Start" button located on the menu to your right.

  Repeatedly tap the F8 key as the virtual machine "boots up" to load it into safe mode, just as you would with any other version of Windows.
