How to Clean Black Powder With Vinegar

Vinegar seems to clean just about anything and everything. While vinegar has a distinct odor that some find offensive, it dries and leaves no discernible scent behind. Vinegar is easy to clean with, relatively cheap and readily available at most supermarkets. Vinegar is used to clean all kinds of spills, including black powder.   • Vacuum
  • Squirt bottle
  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • Toothbrush
  • 2 washcloths

      Suck up as much black powder with your vacuum as you can. This will help to stop it from spreading and making more of a mess.

      Mix one part vinegar to one part water directly into your squirt bottle. Swirl the bottle to mix well.

      Squirt the vinegar mixture directly over any remaining powder. Use a liberal amount.

      Wipe away the vinegar mixture with your wash cloth, getting as much of the black powder as you can.

      Scrub any remaining black powder, or powder that is stuck in cracks or groves, with your toothbrush. Use a back-and-forth motion with medium to hard pressure. You may need to continue to spray the area with the vinegar mixture while you scrub.
