How to Use EasyWorship

Save

EasyWorship is a computer program that is designed to create visual complements to worship services. It includes the ability to display song lyrics, scripture passages, videos, PowerPoint presentations and more. The interface is intuitive and allows the user to edit the schedule and add new items without the audience seeing the process on the big screen.

Things You'll Need

  • EasyWorship Software
  • Computer with Windows operating system

Create a Worship Schedule

  • Set up the EasyWorship schedule for a worship service by dragging and dropping items from the Resources Area in the lower left corner into the Schedule Area in the upper left corner. Change the order of items in the schedule by dragging and dropping them.

  • Import song lyrics into the Resources Area. This is most easily done by downloading lyrics from the CCLI SongSelect database, which requires a membership. In the Resources Area, click the Online tab, then the SongSelect tab, and log in with your membership info. Then you can browse for a song and click Import. If you do not have a CCLI SongSelect membership or the song is not available, go to the Songs menu and click New song. Then type in the lyrics, use the Enter key to make slide breaks, and save it to your Resource Area.

  • Set up any video clips that will be played during the service. To select a specific clip from a DVD, select the Media tab of the Resources Area and then select the DVD tab. Click Add and use the DVD editor to find the right clip, then click OK to save the clip to your Resource Area. To queue up an online video from a site such as YouTube, navigate to the website by using the Online tab and then the Web tab in the Resources Area.

  • Insert scripture into the schedule by using the Scripture tab in the Resources Area to type in a book, chapter, and verse. Drag and drop the necessary verses into the Schedule Area.

  • Import a PowerPoint presentation if one will be used during the sermon, announcements or another part of the service. Click the PowerPoint icon at the right of the Schedule Area, navigate to the PowerPoint presentation stored on your computer, and click Open.

  • Select background images or videos to be displayed behind the song lyrics and scripture verses. Choose images, videos and live feeds from the Media tab of the Resources Area, and then drag and drop them on top of the desired items in the Schedule Area.

  • Preview any part of the schedule by clicking on it in the Schedule Area and looking over it in the Preview Area in the middle of the screen. If changes need to be made, right-click on the item in the schedule and select the Edit option. Changes made this way will not be saved to the Resource Area library, but will be in effect only during this specific schedule.

Play an EasyWorship Schedule

  • Select an item from the EasyWorship schedule by clicking on it so it appears in the Preview Area.

  • Click the Go Live button at the top of the Preview Area. This will put the element from the Preview Area on the audience's screen. It will also move it to the far right area of your screen, the Live Area. The next item on the schedule will be seen in the Preview Area.

  • Click Go Live again each time you would like the item that is visible in your Preview Area to appear for the congregation.

  • Turn on the VJ mode by clicking on the cog symbol above the Live Area and selecting VJ mode. Then click on any of the images, videos and feeds that appear in the bottom of the Live Area to have them override the planned background elements from your schedule.
