Load your audio editing software and open the song that you wish to convert into a ringtone for your BlackBerry.

Convert your song into a ringtone by cropping the section that you wish to be your ringtone from the remainder of the song file. Crop a section by cutting away the parts of the song that you do not want to use to leave the section that you do want behind. The manner in which you crop the section depends upon your software, but generally you cut a file by clicking on it to set a beginning and ending section and then click "Cut."

Input your 10-digit cell phone number followed by your provider's text messaging service extension into the recipient field (e.g., Verizon users would put xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com; Alltel users would put xxxxxxxxxx@message.alltel.com).

Adjust any other properties of your song as well if you wish while you have it opened in your audio editing software, such as the fade properties and volume properties.
Do not include any spaces of hyphens between the digits of your cell phone number because your text message will not be delivered to your BlackBerry if you do.
