How to Put Codes on Action Replay for DS Without a Computer
The Action Replay is a cheat device that allows players to enter codes to modify Nintendo DS. This allows players to cheat at games that otherwise have their own cheat codes. The Action Replay comes preloaded with codes for many games, but only games and codes created before it was manufactured. A computer can be used to update the codes on the Action Replay, but this is not always practical. It is possible to manually enter new codes into the Action Replay.

Insert the Action Replay cartridge into the Nintendo DS. Insert the game cartridge into the slot on the Action Replay.

Turn on your Nintendo DS. The Action Replay will automatically detect the game inserted and bring up the correct code list.

Press the "+ADD" button. This will bring up a keyboard on the screen.

Enter a description for the code with the keyboard. Use the directional pad to move the cursor around the keyboard. Press the "A" button to select a letter. This will be the name displayed in the code list. It is much easier to choose the codes you want to activate or deactivate later on if this name is descriptive.

Enter the Action Replay cheat code into the prompt using the keyboard.

Press the "Next" button when finished. The code will be added to the code list.

Tips & Warnings
You need to add codes to the Action Replay for Nintendo DS only once. The code will be saved to the Action Replay cartridge. You only need to select the code in the cost list to activate it on later play-throughs of the game.
Activating 20 or more Action Replay cheat codes at the same time will often cause issues. Avoid activating too many codes at once. The issues include being unable to start the game, freezing or an inability to progress through the game.
