Instructions

  1. Creating the Star

    • 1

Empty completely and wash out your plastic bottle. Dispose of the bottle cap. Remove any wrapper or plastic covering on the bottle. The open end will be the bottom of your star to be placed on the top of your tree.

    • 2

Use your scissors to poke and cut two small holes opposite each other in the middle of the bottle. Take two Popsicle sticks and fix them together using one layer of tape so that there is only about a quarter inch of overlap between one stick and the other. Slide the taped sticks through the newly cut holes and make sure they are firmly in place. Cut out two of your family pictures in a shape of your choice and glue one on each end of the sticks outside the bottle to form the outside arms of your star.

Cut two more small holes with your scissors near the neck of the bottle. Tape around one Popsicle stick and slide it through these new holes. Cut out and glue two new pictures to each of the ends of the sticks outside the bottle to form the downward-facing points of the star.

Now take one last photo and cut it out in a shape of your choice for the top of your star. Set it aside and cut a hole in the center of the bottom of your bottle which will now serve as the top. Tape one more stick using the athletic tape as before and place it in this new hole. Glue your final picture to this stick to form the top point of your star.
