1
Create an image of what you want the anniversary card to look like by drawing up a mock card to serve as a blueprint. This blueprint will help you determine the size of the card, as well as give you an idea of how much space you have for text and graphics.
-
2
Create the front cover in the area of the page designated as the cover. Since covers are the first thing someone sees on a card, it should be memorable with graphics and/or simple text that stand out. Adorn it with stamps, stenciling, or stickers/other embellishments that will give it a three-dimensional look and feel.

3
Write the text in the inside page or pages of the card. This text should be heart-felt and inspired. Stories often work well that evoke emotion and point to a shared bond or feeling. Avoid cliches and words that don't evoke an emotional response.
-
4
Decorate the inside of the card and/or the back of the card with graphics - either hand-drawn or printed out. Optional decorations include stickers, scrapbooking embellishments or other novelties, such as sparkles, holograms or sliding windows or opening doors.
-
5
Add color through markers or by gluing strips of colored paper along the border of the card. Also, text that is written in a color other than black or blue can make an anniversary card stand out.
-
6
Fold the card and place in an envelope for added protection and presentation.

Tips & Warnings
Be creative. Consider consulting other greeting cards online or in a store to use as inspiration, and not as a rigid template.
Be heart-felt. Use words that evoke emotion, such as love, appreciation, and point out the best in the other person.
Spending too little time on the Anniversary Card will show in the results. Your significant other will see through it immediately, and the consequences may be dire.
