How to Make an Elderberry Martini
An elderberry martini is a delightful twist on a classic bar drink. A classic martini is made of gin and vermouth, both of which have been replaced with vodka and elderberry flower concentrate, making the drink sweet and exotic while still retaining some of the original bite. Tips & Warnings
You can use gin (instead of vodka) for this recipe if you prefer a gin martini, but you need to stir the drink instead of shaking it. Shaking a gin martini will cause the alcohol to bruise, intensifying the juniper content of the gin.
For an interesting variation, reduce the elderberry flower concentrate to 1½ ounces and add 1½ oz. of blackberry liqueur. This drink is excellent served on the rocks in a short cocktail or sours glass.
