How to Save Adobe InDesign in a Lower Version
Adobe InDesign allows you to create a variety of different layouts for items such as books, pamphlets and CD booklets. However, if you are using a large amount of graphics in the software, you can experience a slowdown in performance. To adjust this and increase your performance you can lower the display version of InDesign. This speeds up the program and won't affect your final product.

1
Launch Adobe InDesign and open the file you want to save as a lower-quality version by clicking "File" followed by "Open." Select your file from the "Open" window that appears.
-
2
Click the "Edit" tab if using Windows or "Adobe InDesign" tab if using a Mac computer.

-
3
Select "Preferences" from the pull-down menu, followed by "Display Quality." A new window appears with several different display options
-
4
Reduce the display option from "High Quality" to a lower setting. The lower the setting the faster your computer can render the information. You may want to play with the settings until you find a happy medium that allows you to still see the images but reduces the quality to speed up the system.
