How to Convert Calendar Creator to Outlook

Calendar Creator is a digital organizer software program created and distributed by Broderbund. You may want to stop using Calendar Creator and switch to Outlook, a popular digital calendaring and organizing software bundle made by Microsoft. To do so, you must convert previous data from Calendar Creator to Outlook, which is a 10-minute task.

• Outlook software

Instructions

Save the Calendar Creator Files

1. Open the event list that is to be converted. Go to "Save As" in the menu bar under "File." Type a name for the file when prompted.

2. Click the "Comma Delimited" (.csv) selection under the "Save File As Type" list. Choose a folder to save this file and click "OK."

3. Type start and end dates of the file when prompted by the "Specify Date Range" box. Click "Exit."

Import Files Into Outlook

1. Start the Outlook program. Click "Import and Export" on the file menu in the menu bar. Choose the "Import From Another Program or File" option and click "Next."

2. Select the "Comma Separated Values (Windows)" and click "Next." Find the file that you saved in Calendar Creator. Highlight the file, click "Open" and select "Next."

3. Select the Outlook calendar as the location to import the file. Check to make sure the file name and destination Outlook folder are correct in the "Import A File" box. Choose "Map Custom Fields" and then map the fields exported from Calendar Creator to the right Outlook fields.

4. Click "OK" and select "Finish."
