How to Start a Husqvarna 51
While convenient for felling trees or cutting down big limbs in your yard, chain saws can be incredibly dangerous to operate. To start a Husqvarna 51 chain saw, you first must follow quite a few safety guidelines. Before you begin, put on some eye and ear protection as well as a protective helmet. Wear heavy-duty gloves and sturdy boots. And never try to operate a saw if you're wearing any loose-fitting articles of clothing. Does this Spark an idea?

Set the Husqvarna 51 on the ground.

Push the hand guard up toward the front handle.

Slide the ignition to "Start."

Set the choke to the full choke position if the engine is cold. If the engine is warm, then skip this step.

Place your right foot into the loop of the rear handle. Grasp the front handle in your left hand.

Pull the starter handle out fully with your right hand to release the starter cord. Pull the cord slowly until you feel the teeth engage.

Pull the starter cord quickly with your right hand about 2 feet. Repeat until the saw cranks.

Push the choke back in, if applicable, and apply the throttle.

To turn off the engine, move the ignition switch to "Stop."
