How to Start a Mobile Spyware Removal Business
It was estimated by researchers that in the year 2009, there were 25 million new strains of malware written with the purpose of attacking computers, networks and websites. In the previous 20 years, there were only 15 million strains written overall. With these statistics, the need for people to clean infected machines is growing.
Many consultants have started malware removal businesses to answer this need. Starting this type of company can be extremely profitable if done correctly.

1
Gather malware removal tools for your tool kit. Specific tools should be Clam Win, which is an anti-virus solution; Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to remove other forms of malware and a spyware removal tool like Spybot Search and Destroy. These should be installed on a USB drive so they can be installed on a computer with no Internet connection.
Ideally, the USB drive should also have portable applications that run directly from the drive without the need to be installed on the local computer (see Resource 2).

2
Stay current with malware-related news. Become familiar with commonly found viruses by reading up on them from sites like Symantec and Panda Labs. Sites like the SANS institute and US-CERT also provide a great deal of reference material regarding current malware attacks as well as newer ones that users are facing.
Many of these resources also include information regarding how to manually remove certain strains of malware. This is especially important when you encounter stubborn malware.

Learn how to use a bootable GNU/Linux CD, or a Live CD. Often an infected computer may have trouble booting properly. Using a GNU/Linux CD like BackTrack can help get you into a workable environment. Tools like Clam AV for a Unix environment can then be run without the malware interfering with the process.

4
Advertise your business. Using brochures and business cards can help get the word out locally. Additionally, a business related to technology should have a well-developed website that advertises services.
