How to Make a Lychee, Pomegranate and Strawberry Martini

A lychee, pomegranate and strawberry martini is an exotic-tasting drink that is ideal for summer afternoons by the pool or at a barbeque. Though not a typical martini, you can make this drink with gin if you prefer. You can even blend the drinks with ¾ cup of crushed ice to make a frozen treat that will make you feel like you are on a tropical beach. This recipe makes two lychee, pomegranate and strawberry martinis.

Things You'll Need

• Cocktail shaker
• Cocktail strainer
• Crushed ice
• 8 oz. vodka
• 4 tbsp. lychee liqueur
• 4 tbsp. pomegranate juice
• 2 tbsp. strawberry liqueur
• Juice of ¼ lemon
• 2 martini glasses, chilled
• Lemon wedges or lemon peel, for garnish
• Pomegranate seeds, for garnish

Instructions

1. Fill a cocktail shaker half-full with crushed ice. Add the vodka, lychee liqueur, pomegranate juice, strawberry liqueur and fresh lemon juice.

2. Cover the shaker with your hand or the provided top for 10 to 15 seconds. Shaking any longer will make the drink watery as the ice melts.

3. Strain the lychee, pomegranate and strawberry martini into two martini glasses. Garnish the glasses with a lemon wedge and drop a tablespoon of pomegranate seeds into each one. Serve immediately while the drinks are ice cold.

Tips & Warnings

• If the drink is too sweet for you, add a dash of bitters or increase the lemon juice. Bitters will add an herbal quality to the drink, which some may like.
