Instructions

    • 1

Blot the spill on the carpet, if still wet, with a rag to soak up as much liquid as possible. When you can soak up the liquid from the carpet, you can clean it without a stain even occurring.

    • 2

Clean fresh stains with a rag soaked in club soda. Dab the spot on the carpet until it is very wet. Club soda carbonation brings the stain liquid to the surface and prevents it from setting into your carpet.

    • 3

Remove set-in stains with a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. Combine vinegar and baking soda in a bowl to make a paste. Smooth the paste over the carpet, and rub it into the carpet with a toothbrush. The bristles will force the mixture into each carpet fiber, helping to lift and remove the stain.

    • 4

Vacuum when dry. You may need to repeat this step a second time if the stain is not fully lifted the first time.

Tips & Warnings

  • Baking soda will also remove odors from your carpet. Sprinkle, let set overnight then vacuum.
