How to Change Norton Firewall Rules for High Speed DSL
A firewall is essential to computers to prevent unauthorized access from outside people or applications. Keeping your firewall on will protect your computer from viruses and you from identity theft. Occasionally, you may need to turn off your firewall: When you're playing some games, or downloading music or movies, for example. Also, if you've recently changed your Internet connection (dial-up, wireless, high speed DSL, etc.), you may need adjust the rules and settings as well.

Click on Norton Internet Security on your computer's desktop.

Click on "Network Settings."

Scroll to "Firewall."

Click on "On" or "Off" to change the firewall settings. Turning the firewall on will ensure unauthorized access is blocked. Turning the firewall off will allow unauthorized access and allow you to play games or download movies and music.
