How to Make a Lychee Mimosa

A Lychee mimosa is a simple variation on a classic drink. Substituting Lychee liqueur for Grand Marnier, this drink is exotic and elegant. A perfect drink before a fine fusion meal, the taste of Lychee works with many dishes and styles of food. This recipe makes two Lychee mimosas, but you can easily multiply the recipe to make more drinks. For a unique summertime variation, place the Lychee mimosas in a blender with 1/2 cup of ice and blend. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Freshly squeezed orange juice, well chilled
  • Two chilled champagne flutes
  • Lychee liqueur, well chilled
  • Dry champagne, well chilled

Instructions

      Pour 2 oz. of orange juice into the champagne flutes, dividing it evenly between the two of them.

      Add 4 tsp. of Lychee liqueur to the champagne flutes.

      Top each drink with ½ cup of dry champagne. Stir with a glass stirrer and serve immediately while ice cold.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can make many different types of mimosas using this same basic recipe. Substitute blood orange juice for regular orange juice, or simply use Grand Marnier rather than Lychee liqueur.

  • To make a lemon mimosa, replace the Lychee liqueur with orange Curacao or Limoncello.

  • Serve mimosas on the rocks if you wish. These are especially pleasing for outdoor brunch and luncheon parties.
