How to Make a Lemon-Lime Shooter

A lemon-lime shooter is a classic party drink, blurring the line between a mixed drink and a shot. While fairly low in alcohol content for a shooter, these types of drinks are quite potent, so be careful. This recipe makes two shooters, though you can easily double or triple it.   • Cocktail shaker
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 oz. white rum
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 tbsp. heavy cream
  • Lime or lemon wedges

      Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Add the rum, lemon juice, lime juice and light cream.

      Cover the cocktail shaker with the provided top or your hand and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. You want the cream to become frothy and the drink to turn ice cold.

      Strain the mixture into two shooter or shot glasses and garnish each with a lime or lemon wedge.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a citrus shooter, add 1 tbsp. orange juice to the mixture during the first step.

  • If you prefer the taste of gold rum you can use that instead, though it may alter the color of the final drink in a less than pleasant way, giving them a rusty brown hue.
