Instructions

    • 1

Wait for the mixture to start bubbling in the early stages of making the ginger beer plant, usually after about six days. The water will also start to look cloudy.

    • 2

Look on top of the liquid. There is where the mold would be growing.

    • 3

Scoop away any mold that you find. If the mold grows back, throw it all out and start again.

    • 4

Observe the top of the ginger beer plant even after it's bottled. If the bottle was not air tight for some reason, the top is where the moldy film will grow. If there is mold, throw the whole drink out.
