How to Clean Wool
You should never clean wool by throwing the wool blanket, wool sweater, wool clothing or wool jacket in the washer with normal detergent as it will harm the wool material. Wool is very temperamental to standard washing and the wool fiber can become very coarse if you don't use a mild neutral pH soap such as dish soap to hand wash it. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Fill your bathtub halfway full with warm water. Squirt about a teaspoon of dish soap into the water and stir it around. The water should have a fair amount of suds in it. Submerge the wool into the water.

2
Massage the wool under the warm, soapy water in the tub. Avoid wringing the wool as it is hard on the wool fibers. Just rub the wool against itself to remove any stains. Pull the wool out of the soapy water and allow the tub to drain. Turn on the shower head to warm water. Hold the wool under the shower head and rinse the dish soap suds out. Hold the wool item under the shower head until the water rinsing through it is clear and free of suds. Hand squeeze, but don't wring, the water out of the wool.
