How to Find Survival Food Storage for Free
Why would you want to find free survival food storage, anyway? It can get really expensive storing food for an individual. Add to that a family of three, four, five or more and your purchase price for a one year or more food supply can be overwhelming. Finding survival food storage for free can help lower costs. Here's how:

Check your local www.freecycle.org group. Look for users who are getting rid of things in a move. Monitor their ads over a couple of days. Sometimes, food items are one of the last things they'll post and although they won't advertise it as such, some items may be perfect for your survival food storage.

Follow Step 1 using www.craigslist.com. Find the free section for your city as well as nearby towns and cities. Conduct a search by typing "free and food" to see what you get.

3
Buy a copy of the Message Board or equivalent local newspaper that serves your area. These are local newspapers that allow area residents to post classified ads in all categories for free. Go to the "free" or "giveaway" section and check regularly for ads. Don't wait for an ad that says "Survival Food Storage for Free." Think ahead of time what ingredients you need, and be on the lookout for what's being offered.
-
4
Accept foods from co-workers and friends who are moving out or getting rid of supplies. It's rare that people will get rid of freeze dried foods, dehydrated foods or other #10 can food storage. Collect and store the dry ingredients they are getting rid of in food grade buckets, as well as canned goods that haven't expired or aren't dented.

5
Don't go to the local food bank. They don't exist to help you stockpile survival food storage items, even if you can't afford to buy items on your own. Hoarding foods from a food bank this way is a violation against your neighbor in need of food to survive this present day.

Tips & Warnings
If you do find free food that's just about to expire, you can eat those and use the money you would have spent on groceries that day, week or month to buy items for your survival food storage.
