How to Make a Frozen Papaya Cocktail

Frozen papaya cocktails are the quintessential party drink, perfect for outdoor barbecues and casual cocktail parties with good friends. Papayas are also a very healthy fruit, so you don't have to feel so guilty about this cocktail. Paired with grilled mahi-mahi, red snapper or fish tacos, frozen papaya cocktails help tie together the flavors of many simple and easy dishes. Things You'll Need

  • 1 ripe papaya, peeled, seeded and roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup crushed ice
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 tsp. freshly squeezed lime juice

      Put the papaya fruit, crushed ice, orange juice and lime juice in a blender and process until smooth and creamy, about 15 to 20 seconds.

      Transfer the mixture to a cocktail shaker with a strainer.

      Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker evenly into three champagne flutes.

      Top each glass with four ounces of Prosecco and garnish with a slice of lime. Serve the drinks immediately while they are ice cold.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use other fruit to make this drink as well. Mango, pear and peach work wonderfully, and one of them is bound to be available in your area all year round.
