How to Create a Muslin in Photoshop

      Open a new canvas in Photoshop.

      Choose your foreground and background colors by selecting the colors on the left hand side of the screen.

      Select the rectangle marquee tool from the left hand side of the screen.

      Draw a rectangle about 1/3 the size of the canvas with the rectangle marquee tool.

      Go to "Filter," "Render" and "Clouds."

      Press "V" to select the move tool.

      Select "Show Transform Controls" in the top toolbar to make the size handles appear.

      Click on the corner of your cloud section and stretch it to the size of your canvas.

      Go to "Filter," "Render" and "Lighting Effects," and select "Soft Omni Light" to create a gentle light near the center of the completed canvas.
