How to Caulk for Colored Grout

Grout comes in many colors to match or accent your tile. However, when it comes to caulk, you normally have to stick with the clear or white caulk found in big-box stores or order special colored caulk. There are two ways, though, to mix and match your own colored caulk. Both involve saving or buying latex paint that matches the color you want. You can use either paintable caulk or a system called Red Devil Create a Color for your caulking job. Does this Spark an idea?

Tips & Warnings

  • Not all caulk is paintable. Make sure the brand of caulk you are using is paintable before you start. Red Devil is the only company that makes color-mixable caulk. Regular caulk will not mix with the paint.
