Instructions

    • 1

Cut out a circle of gauze that is about 24 inches in diameter.

    • 2

Spread newspaper on your table. Place a medium sized Styrofoam cube that is about 6 inches tall in the center of the table. This will become the head of the ghost

    • 3

Place one small Styrofoam cube that is about 3 inches tall on each side of the medium Styrofoam cube, spacing the cubes about 2 inches apart. These will form the arms of the ghost

    • 4

Use toothpicks to secure a 6-inch-tall Styrofoam ball on top of the medium Styrofoam cube. Use the same method to secure a 3-inch-tall Styrofoam ball onto each small Styrofoam cube.

    • 5

Mix together 1/4 cup water and 1/4 cup school glue. Press the gauze into the glue mixture. Once the gauze is soaked, wring it out.

    • 6

Drape the wet gauze over the Styrofoam. Mold and move the fabric until it reaches the shape you desire. Allow the gauze to dry over night.

    • 7

Draw a face on the ghost with a permanent marker and remove the Styrofoam from underneath it.

Tips & Warnings

  • You may alter the size of the ghost according to your needs.

  • To change the shape of the ghost, simply change the arrangement of the Styrofoam cubes and balls.

  • Cheesecloth or any other similar fabric may be used instead of gauze.

  • Instead of Styrofoam, you may use old plastic containers and bottles.
