How to Change the Language in Adobe Acrobat 8 to French

By default, Adobe Acrobat 8 runs in English. Changing the language settings in Adobe Acrobat 8 makes the program easier to use for non-English readers; all the commands and menu items in the application can be displayed in different languages. Setting the default language to French is a simple process that can be completed in minutes if French Language Support has been installed as an option with Adobe Acrobat 8.

  • Click “Edit” on the main menu bar of Adobe Acrobat 8 and select the “Preferences” option from the bottom of the menu.

  • In the “Preferences” window, select “International” from the “Categories” list.

  • From the “International” options menu, select “French” from the “Application Language” drop down list. You will need to restart Adobe Acrobat 8 before the language change takes place.

  • Click “OK” to save your preferences, then close Adobe Acrobat 8.

  • Open Adobe Acrobat 8; the application should now be running in French.
