Instructions

    • 1

Place 3 tbsp. of softened honey into a small mixing dish. The easiest way to soften honey is to submerge the entire bottle into very hot water (boiled water is fine) for about four or five minutes.

    • 2

Add 1 tsp. of lemon juice to the soft honey. Stir the lemon juice and honey together.

    • 3

Add 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. of sugar to the honey and lemon juice mixture. Only a little bit of sugar is actually required to create the "scrub" effect. Mix all three ingredients together for about one minute.

    • 4

Wet the face with warm water. Apply the facial scrub to the face, mainly massaging the scrub on your forehead, cheeks and chin areas. Once finished, allow the scrub to sit on your face for 10 minutes.

    • 5

Thoroughly rinse scrub from your face, washing the face two or three times to ensure that the honey has completely rinsed off. Do not scrub your face with a face cloth; simply use your hands and water to rinse off the scrub. Gently pat dry your face with a cloth. You may use a drop or two of lemon juice as an astringent or toner, but this is not required. You may also elect to use a moisturizer.

Tips & Warnings

  • This is a very simple facial scrub that can ultimately be enhanced with other kitchen items. Conduct research to see which foods can be added to this basic mixture and which skin concerns these foods address.
