How to Configure Skype on Fring

Skype is one of a few VoIP programs available. Skype allows for people to call other Skype users for free, and other phones for a low rate. Normally, you would use Skype's software to do this, but alternative software such as Fring can use Skype with additional features, such as cross-IM connectivity and even bringing Skype to a device without an official Skype client.

Instructions

    • 1

      Go to the "Add-ons" section of Fring. If there is no option available, go to "Options" then "Settings," then click on "Configure services."

      Choose the icon that represents Skype. This opens up settings for Skype to work with Fring.

    • 3

      Enter your Skype username and password in the window that appears; then confirm the selection.

    • 4

      Return to the main menu.

  • Keep your SkypeOut balance maintainted in order to call landlines using Skype or Fring.
