How to Connect a Laptop to a Comcast Modem

One of the nice things about using a laptop over a traditional personal computer is that they portable. If you subscribe to Comcast's high speed Internet access, then you will need to connect your laptop to their modem, before going through a wireless router for Internet access.       Plug the modem into the wall. Make sure that the power light comes on, so that you know your modem is in working condition.

      Take the cable coming from the wall and connect it to the back of your modem. Fit the end of the cable over the connector and twist clockwise until it is tight. You should be able to do this by hand.

      Insert one end of the Ethernet cable the Ethernet port on your modem. You should hear a "click" when it is inserted properly.

      Insert the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on your laptop. Click on the icon on your laptop that you use to go online to check your connection.
