The instrument panel on a Chrysler PT Cruiser is illuminated at night so you can easily see all the gauges along the dashboard as you are driving. You can adjust the brightness of these dashboard lights on the PT Cruiser by simple use of the multifunction lever on the left side of the steering column. This lever is a component of the car that you use every time you drive, as it also controls the turn signals, headlights and parking lights.

Step 1

Place your key into the ignition of the PT Cruiser.

Step 2

Turn the key to the "ACC" or "On" position, and turn on either your headlights or parking lights.

Step 3

Use the fingers of your left hand to rotate the center portion of the multifunction lever upward to make the dashboard lights brighter. As you rotate this portion of the lever upward, you will notice that the odometer and radio will light up. At the farthest setting, the interior lights will illuminate.
