How to Change Icons on a BlackBerry

Save

All of the BlackBerry smartphone's myriad features are easily accessible by clicking the icons on the device's main menu. These small graphics come preset and can be a little impersonal. So If you own a BlackBerry and would like to customize your main menu screen by changing the stock icons to others that you have created or downloaded, it's relatively easy to do. You don't need to be tech-savvy to accomplish this task, and it should only take a moment.

  • Access the main menu in your BlackBerry and click the "Applications" icon.

  • Right-click once you are in the Icon list and select "Change all Icons."

  • Go to the folder on your desktop with the new icons and click on it. You can use photos you've downloaded from the Internet, or if your Blackberry has the Theme Studio program installed on it you can design your own icon by accessing "Theme Studio" in the Applications folder.

  • Rename the files in the folder so that they have the same name as the current desktop icons. For example, if you wish to change the icon for the current Applications folder, rename the graphic you wish to replace it with so it reads "Applications" as well.

  • Click "OK" and the new icons will be set.
