How to Build a Sales Strategy
One way to succeed with your business is to have a plan. For a sales strategy, create it in phases. The first phase is to create a solid foundation for your strategy, and then the next phase is to allow it to evolve over time and through experience. When you follow a plan based on experience, you are putting yourself in a better position to succeed. Your sales strategy should be one of the cornerstones to building a profitable business.

1
Use demographic research data to establish your target audience, where they are and how to best reach them. When you are creating a product, you should already have a target audience in mind.
-
2
Create a market research group, then get its opinion on your product or service. A market research group consists of a variety of people that you consider to be part of your target audience. When they are presented with your product or service, you monitor the responses to see how to improve your offering.

3
Analyze the competition to see where you can place your product and what marketing tactics you can use to get better results. Spend time with your competition's products to see how their pricing and features compares. When you call on customers by phone or in person, note of who says they are using your competition's products. Ask these customers what they like about the competition and what they would like to see improved.
-
4
Combine your market research into presentation materials that enhance the sales process. The research you have done will tell you what your customers seek in your product, what they like about your product compared to the competition and how much they would be willing to pay. Presentation material helps the customer to make a buying decision, and it can also answer customers' questions and objections.
-
5
Develop a list of sales objections clients come up with, and spend time developing responses to every objection. Make sure that each response to an objection ends with an attempt to close the sale.
