1
Cut card stock to the size you need for the tags using scissors or a paper cutter. Consider cutting the tags in to shapes other than squares or rectangles for an interesting effect. You can cut circles, hearts and triangles easily with scissors. Use large paper punches to cut intricate shapes like flowers or animals.

2
Add a cropped photograph to the shape or decorate it with a rubber stamp such as a birthday cake, Christmas tree or gift package. If making luggage tags, consider stamping an airplane or even a piece of luggage onto the tag.

3
Stamp a name, monogram or other pertinent information onto the tag using a rubber stamp alphabet. If alphabet stamps are not available, use alphabet stickers or hand write the information instead of stamping.
-
4
Use a single hole punch to punch a hole in the side or top of the tag. String a piece of ribbon through the hole and tie it in a knot at the top of the tag. Skip this step and place the tags into tag protectors if you will be using them for luggage or other carry-along bags.
-
5
Attach the tags to gift packages, home storage containers and other boxes using double-sided adhesive, or use the ribbons to tie them onto gift bags.
