How to Cut Foam Cushions
When you tackle some home interior decorating projects, you will invariably need to cover foam cushions. You may even need to cut foam cushions to a specific size to fit your space. Instead of laboring with a serrated knife to cut through thick foam, use an electric knife to cut foam cushions. The electric knife will cut through the foam quickly and effortlessly. The pieces of foam you cut will be accurate as well.

1
Measure the dimensions you need to cut the foam cushions onto the foam.
-
2
Draw an outline of the foam cushions directly onto the foam with the permanent marker. If you have an existing foam cushion that you are duplicating, trace around this onto the new foam. For easiest cutting, draw the outline on both the top of the foam and the bottom of the foam, making sure the lines match up perfectly.

3
Place the foam onto the floor where you will have enough room to work.
-
4
Hold the electric knife perpendicular to the floor and begin cutting along the lines you drew in Step 2. Cut slowly, checking your cutting progress every 1 to 2 inches to make sure you are cutting straight through the foam to the bottom and staying on the line you drew on the bottom of the foam.

Continue cutting through the foam with the electric knife until you have cut along every line you drew.
