How to Syphon a Water Bed

Water-beds are a dying breed but there are many people who still have and use them. However they do occasionally need to be drained for one reason or another. If you do not have a pump, then you will have to siphon it from the bed, which can be equally as effective, just a little less inconvenient. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • The attachment for the hose to the bed

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the water hose to the bed. Use the attachment that came with your bed to connect the hose to the bed. Be sure that the hose fits snug and tight.

    • 2

Lay the water hose out with as much downward slope as possible. This is especially important to keep the water flowing.

    • 3

Place your mouth on the end of the hose, and suck as much air out as you can. Try to have an air-tight seal around the hose to remove as much air as possible. Once enough suction is created the pressure and gravity will continue to pull more water out of the bed, until it is empty.

Tips & Warnings

  • It might take two or three breaths to create enough suction.
