How to Delete an Address From Google Maps

The information shown on Google Maps comes from a variety of sources and can on occasion may be outdated or otherwise incorrect. If you are aware of a business that has moved and whose old address is still posted on Google Maps, or if the site contains information that intrudes on your privacy, you can request its removal. Use the Google Maps problem-reporting feature to report a problem or delete an address from the site.

  • Browse to and search for the address you would like to request to have removed. You will be taken to a map; the title of the business or address that you searched for will be shown on the left side of the screen, along with other close matches (if applicable).

  • Click the name of the business or address, shown in bold type on the left side of the screen. A bubble will appear over that address on the map.

  • Click the "Edit" link inside the bubble, then click "Report a problem."

  • Click the appropriate radio button for the reason you are requesting removal of the address. Valid reasons include: incorrect information in the listing, the establishment being closed permanently or not existing, a duplicate listing or the listing containing private information.

  • Add any comments that you have in the "Comments" box to help Google investigate the problem. Because some time may be required before the address is removed, it is important to include all applicable information to make the process as fast as possible.

  • Click the "Report problem" button to complete the process.
