How to Transfer Ring Tones From Cell Phones
You can transfer a ringtone between a cell phone and a computer, as well as between cell phones. The method you do for each one differs, but both are pretty straightforward. In order to transfer the file to your computer, you will need the software and cables that came with the phone. To transfer the files between cell phones, the sending phone will have to be able to access the internet. If both phones have internet access, you have more options for transfer. Connect your cell phone to your computer through the USB port. Your phone should have come with a USB cable that will allow this connection. You should have also installed any software that came with your phone onto your computer.

Open your cell phone's folder. To do this, open the "Start" menu and go to "My Computer." Your cell phone will be listed under the "Devices With Removable Storage" list. Double-click on your cell phone to open its folder.
In Windows Vista and 7, you will open the "Start" menu and select "Computer." If you cannot see any folders in the Computer window, you may have to set the folder to open in "Explore" mode. Open "Computer" and click "Tools > Options." Open the "File Types" tab and highlight "(NONE) Folders" in the list of file types. Click on "Advanced" and highlight "Explore" in the action box. Find the file that you used for your ringtone. Every ringtone file is a music file on your cell phone. It may be saved inside of another folder within your cell phone.

Right-click on the file and click on "Copy." Right-click on the desktop and click on "Paste." Wait for the transfer to complete.

Disconnect your cell phone from your computer. Close all folders on the computer, and then click on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located on the bottom-right toolbar on your desktop.

Open the internet browser on your cell phone and log in to your e-mail account.

Compose a new message.

Attach your ringtone to your e-mail message. You do this by clicking on the attachment link (paper clip symbol) and browsing for your ringtone. Once you find the file, select it.

Type in the cell phone gateway address you want to transfer your ringtone to. The address will be the user's phone number plus the specific gateway address for each carrier. For example, to send an email to an AT&T customer, you would send to "(10-digit phone number)@txt.att.net." Your e-mail message will be sent in the form of a text message.

Open the text message on the other phone and download the attachment.

You can also send the e-mail to the user's e-mail address. They can then open the internet browser on their phone and log in to their e-mail to retrieve the file.
You can transfer ringtones between phones by using your computer. You will first have to transfer your ringtone from your cell phone to your computer. Disconnect the first cell phone and connect another one to the computer. Open the cell phone's folder and drag the ringtone file into the folder.
