How to Change the Security Settings on a PDF File
The official application utilized to create, edit and secure Portable Document Format (PDF) documents is Adobe Acrobat. PDF documents may be secured with password restrictions on editing and printing the document or a password may be required to even open the document. To change security settings if the file is already password protected, the user must have the full access password for the PDF document as well as the Adobe Acrobat application. If the document does not have security configured, the user may set the security by applying password restrictions using Adobe Acrobat.
