How to Use Xplayer on a BlackBerry
XPlayer is a dual-function media player made exclusively for BlackBerry smart phones. Not only can the xPlayer play multiple audio and video files, such as MP3, MP4, WAV and AVI, but it also supports Live Radio, a subscription service that gives users access to thousands of radio stations. If you would like to use xPlayer on your BlackBerry, you must first install xPlayer on your phone using BlackBerry's standard desktop software.

Load xPlayer onto BlackBerry

Upgrade to the BlackBerry 4.2 or later operating system. XPlayer is not compatible with operating systems prior to 4.2.

Download the xPlayer application (see Resources.) Unzip the xPlayer application files by right-clicking on the file name and choosing "Extract" from the menu that comes up.

Install the BlackBerry Desktop software if you do not already have it installed on your system. BlackBerry Desktop software is available for free download on the BlackBerry page in both PC and Mac versions (see Resources.) To install the BlackBerry Desktop software, double-click the icon and follow the setup screens.

Plug your BlackBerry into your computer using the USB cable that was provided. Open the BlackBerry Desktop software from the "Start" menu or "Applications" menu of your computer.

Select "Application Loader" from the list of options provided on the first screen of the BlackBerry Desktop software. On the following screen, press the "Start" button under the "Add/Remove Applications" option.

Click the "Browse" button under the "Device Application Selection" box. Go to the folder that contains the unzipped xPlayer files, click on the ".alx" file and press the "Open" button. This will return you to the "Application Loader" screen, where the "xPlayer.alx" file should be listed in the window.

Press the "Finish" button on the final screen of the "Application Loader." XPlayer will be loaded onto your BlackBerry.

Add music to xPlayer by pressing the BlackBerry's menu button and choosing "Add File/Folder." Select the name of the folder or file your want to add and hit "Add."

Open a playlist in xPlayer by opening the "Menu" and choosing "Load Playlist." Press the space button and choose another playlist to load more than one at a time.

Choose an output channel by going to the menu and clicking "Settings." Here, you can select from several output paths, including the BlackBerry's built-in speakers or Bluetooth.
