Go to www.pioneerelectronics.com and click "Support." On the Support page select "Blu-Ray Disc and DVD."
Select your Blu-Ray player model.
Click the "Updates" button, and click the "Firmware Upgrade" link. Click "I Agree" on the page that pops up. Save the zip file containing your software upgrade to your Desktop.
Open the zip file and the folder within until you see a file with the "MVP" extension. For instance "BDP12X_142.MVP". Copy the MVP file to your USB drive.
Turn on your Blu-Ray player. Press "Home Menu" and then navigate to the "Settings" menu. Scroll down to "Software Update" and press "Enter."
Plug your USB drive into the Blu-Ray player and press "Enter." After the system checks the drive, press "Enter" again to start updating. Your Blu-Ray player will shut down when the process is complete.
Unplug the USB drive. Turn on your Blu-Ray player.
