How to Convert From QuickBooks
QuickBooks is popular accounting software that is used in many businesses to keep track of client payment information, employee payroll information, and sales information such as inventory. While QuickBooks files are similar to other spreadsheet programs, they are not compatible with most of those programs and, therefore, cannot be opened and read by other programs. If you want to convert data from QuickBooks into another data file format, such as Excel, you must first export the QuickBooks data and then save it in another program.

Tips & Warnings
QuickBooks provides additional plug-ins that allow users to export QuickBooks data as IIF, or Intuit Interchange Format, which can then be uploaded into other accounting programs, such as Microsoft Accounting. Other accounting applications, such as Peachtree, provide their own conversion utilities to convert data from QuickBooks to their software.
